New news and other news…

Our Estate Eale is upon us in two days!!! Main Street Estate Sales has done a bang-up job this week setting everything up—making everything accessible and the basement maneuverable!

Go to here for the official sale listing on estatesales.net

Estate Sale Information

Since the sale is all set up and ready to go, DARE Minneapolis will no longer be holding regular business hours. Dare Salon will still be open with the assortment of local gifts and art you all have come to love and expect, just by appointment only. Halving our space had just made it necessary for us to modify our business plans…

Finally, TerraCycle has ruined everything and we are discontinuing our community recycling program. They have discontinued their stationary recycling program as of 5/31/2023 (I’m sending the last box of recycling in today!) and they are limiting their beauty recycling to specific brands. I’ll post more on this later…

One last quick note about the sale —

Masks will be required for the first 2 hours (9am-11am) EACH DAY OF THE SALE to accommodate our immunocompromised guests. All other times masking is optional.

Thank you in advance!!!

the universe steps up…

Guess what! It’s our 5 year anniversary this summer! 5 years selling local art and vintage! 5 years owning a salon! 2 locations, 1 name change, and 1 global pandemic later, and we’re still struggling to get folx to our little hidden courtyard shop.

But… it seems the universe has different plans for us…Sarah Songs (as I like to call the owner of the music school next door), needs to expand, and has asked if she can expand into our side of the basement. It’s really impolite to ignore the universe when it drops the answer in your lap…

This means that DARE Minneapolis will no longer have a lower level vintage section. We might have a few pieces here and there, but we’ll mostly be stocked with our fave local art and gifts. Also DARE Minneapolis will just merge into DARE Salon and be by appointment only, unless I decide to pop our open sign out…

But HERE’S THE FUN PART—we need to clear out the basement, store fixtures and all, so we are having an ESTATE SALE!!! Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, June 2-4, 9am-3pm each day. If there’s anything you’ve been eyeing and haven’t pulled the trigger yet, now is the time to stop in, do a little vintage shopping, and say hi! Check the website and the socials to see when/if we’re open…

Main Street Estate Sales of Minnesota–our fave estate sale company hands freakin’ down!!!

Here’s to the universe & new adventures!

this winter, amiright??!?

So, yeah, I just looked, and I haven’t updated since mf*ing November??!? I talk to a lot of you (I’m a regular hair-apist, ya know) and this season has been pretty bleak for a lot of us. And, if I’m being perfectly honest, has hit yours truly pretty hard.

Winter burying the light inside…

*deleted TMI here*

Anyhoo, I’m back to the land of the light, I hope. Going to try posting more on the socials–we’re getting some new stuff in for spring and we’re heading to another Minneapolis Vintage Market on Sunday, April 16 at Quincy Hall in NE Minneapolis, with our mate Kristen (ecstatic eclectic vintage) — so that’s fun!

We’re still open Tuesdays 11-4, Thursdays 1-7, Saturdays 11-4, and are always up for a personal shopping appointment!

Stay bright my friends, and remember, medication is our friend!

Oh the things afoot at DARE…

First off, thanks to all of you who’ve stopped in since we reopened the doors in October! It’s been fabulriffic to be able to share our vintage and local finds with you all again 😍 We’re adding new stuff all the time and hopeful that the recent trend to shop local evolves beyond “the thing to do” into THE THING TO DO!!!

Our hours continue to be Tuesdays 11-4, Thursdays 1-7, and Saturdays 11-4.

Secondly, a lot of you know that we’ve finally installed our Little Free Library. It’s been a blast being a library steward, and creating a new community around books! (Except for those few incidences of minor theft plus an empty soda can left inside the library, but who knows, maybe that person really needed our guest book??!?) We’ve also been placing some small, fun, free goodies inside, because we’re like that, and who doesn’t like a free spider ring, or a shiny rock, or a fidget spinner every now and again??!?

DARE Minneapolis Little Free Library

This weekend we’re starting to leave a random number of library tokens in the library for folx to find, bring into the shop, and redeem for a prize — spin the wheel, you might get a sticker, or 30% off 1 item, or something in between!!!

Library Token
Redeem your token, spin the wheel, get a prize!

Finally, we are once again an official drop-off site for the Minneapolis Chapter of Toys for Tots. We are collecting new, unwrapped toys through December 16. If you don’t have time to shop, but want to make a donation to our local chapter, we have set up a donation portal, to make it easy to help our neighbors in need.

Yeah, so that’s now, check out the stuff, maybe find a library token and get a prize, or just stop in to say hi—we always like to see you!

✨✨✨

OPEN EVERY:
TUESDAY 11-4pm
THURSDAY 1-7pm
SATURDAY 11-4pm

Masks still required as the salon is open, we have some immunocompromised guests, and we’d like to keep everyone comfortable and safe.

Also remember that a portion of our monthly sales always goes to Voices for Racial Justice and OutFront Mn, and we double our donations for the month of December!!!

Re-opening October 1, 2022!

DARE Minneapolis, your favorite curiously curated retail adventure, is reopening for walk in hours! We are bringing you MORE local goodness, MORE curious vintage, and MORE space to find what you never knew you needed!

We’ve missed you’re faces, but unfortunately not enough to cancel our mask policy. Masks are still required to shop inside, as the salon will be open, and we have folx who are compromised, as well as an elderly parent that lives with us.

Here’s to being kind to each other, supporting local, giggling, and being back in the community!!!

We can’t wait to see you!!!
