Lauren Nicole Rusnak
Infrared Studio, an atelier owned by interdisciplinary artist Lauren Nicole, embodies an aesthetic that speaks to everyone from riot grrrls (of all ages!) to more mature women who don’t take their style cues from mainstream media’s fashion police.
Lauren is a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and is originally from the Chicago region. By day she designs software interfaces and has a background in graphic design. She launched her first jewelry collection in 2008. Inspired by her love of art history, typography, music and urban street culture, Lauren’s designs beautifully convey the juxtaposition of her fine art education and urban aesthetic. The acrylic jewelry collection is laser cut from light weight acrylic and set on stainless steel posts. Some pieces are hand sanded to give the effect of lucite.
In her spare time, Lauren is usually outside taking photographs or doing something sporty like snowboarding, skateboarding, pilates or road biking. She is a foodie with a penchant for Asian cuisine, has a passion for hip-hop music, and enjoys hunting for fashion finds at any chic local boutique.
